Imam speech 'under study'
AMBALA, OCT. 13. The Centre is examining the recent pro-Taliban
and pro-Osama bin Laden statements of Shahi Imam Ahmad Bukhari of
the Jama Masjid, Delhi, and action would be taken at an
appropriate time, the Union Minister of State for Home, Mr. I.D.
Swamy, said today.
``The pro-Taliban statements of the Shahi Imam have been recorded
by the Government and these are being examined,'' he told
presspersons here.
Ruling out the possibility of launching an operation to destroy
terrorist training camps in Pak.-occupied Kashmir, Mr. Swamy
said, India ``will fight it at our own level and will not depend
on others.''
