By Our Staff Reporter

KOTTAYAM, OCT. 15. Panic prevails at Vizhickathode, near Kanjirappally in Kottayam district, Kerala, over a letter from Cyprus which allegedly contained a ``powder-like object''.

A postal cover, addressed to a minor, was partially damaged. While handling it, the postal employees found ``a powder-like'' object. They felt itching and nausea and two of them complained of giddiness. The parent of the addressee was called in but he refused to accept the letter.

The post office has been partially sealed and the health officials have visited the area. Police have registered a case.
