Anthrax: infant tests positive
NEW YORK, OCT. 16.A seven-month-old baby became the latest victim
of anthrax even as authorities tried to quell fears of terrorist
anthrax attacks after 110 envelopes containing white powder were
sent to abortion clinics and planned parenthood facilities across
the U.S.
Concerns were being expressed that media organisations might be
the target.
A report from Washington said mail to Congress was today stopped
indefinitely and galleries closed to the public as a letter sent
to the Democratic Senate Majority Leader, Mr. Tom Daschle, was
found sprinkled with a powder which tested positive for anthrax.
