IndusInd Bank's thrust on retail business

CHENNAI, OCT. 16. IndusInd Bank is now extending its expertise to the retail segment, after establishing itself as a preferred bank for corporate clients, according to Mr. Fali F. Forbes, the Executive vice-president. Pursuing this goal, the bank is making available `multi delivery channels for better reach and convenience.

It has recently acquired channel banking technology from CR2 an Irish company and a leading provider of channel banking and card payment solutions for secure Internet banking service.

The bank has opened its 44th outlet in Chennai. It is planning to open 100 outlets during the financial year, of which 60 will be full-fledged branches. The remaining 40 will be extension counters and off-site ATMs.

A retail banking boutique has been set up in Chennai branch in July with a team of about eight customer relations and marketing executives executive headed by a manager (retail banking).

The ATM centre in Chennai was inaugurated by Mr. M. A. M. R. Muthiah, Managing Director, Chettinad Cement Corporation. Mr. Ramakrishna Raja, Director of the bank, was present on the occasion.
