NEW DELHI, OCT. 17. A slip of the tongue by a foreign woman
journalist produced some lighter moments at the joint press
conference addressed by the visiting U.S. Secretary of State,
Gen. Colin Powell and the External Affairs Minister, Mr. Jaswant
Singh here today.
Towards the end of the press conference, the ABC correspondent
addressed Mr. Singh as ``Mr. Prime Minister'' setting off peals
of laughter amidst which the External Affairs Minister said ``I
will lose my job''.
With a smile flashing across his face, Gen. Powell immediately
reached out to Mr. Singh to `congratulate' him.
The embarrassed journalist apologised repeatedly.
