Swamy's talk at Harvard

The Janata Party president, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, on Tuesday, addressed China studies scholars at a seminar at Harvard University's famed Fairbank Centre on Comparative Growth and Reforms in China and India.

Dr. Swamy is at Harvard for a week. Eminent scholars such as Dwight Perkins, Merle Goldman, Roderick Macfarquhar, Yasheng Huang and others participated.

According to a Janata Party release, Dr. Swamy also talked with Ms. Yevgenia Albats, the author of the well-known book on the KGB, the former USSR spy agency, about the archival materials of the agency now available in large measure in libraries in the U.S. Ms. Albats was a member of the Commission to inquire into KGB's role in the August 1991 coup attempt, which was set up by the former President, Mr. Boris Yeltsin. Ms. Albats is visiting Harvard for her further research, and had earlier revealed documents in Russian media to indicate KGB links in India.
