Revive NAM
Sir, - The recent U.S. safari in Afghanistan reminds me of the
cold war era when the U.S. sent its so-called multilateral troops
in many parts of Latin America. The U.S. Government is aware of
evolving a policy to contain terrorism. In 1991, when I visited
the U.S., I was shown around an Institute in Washington DC
devoted to tackling terrorism. It is only after the Sept. 11
attacks, the U.S. realised that the dark shadows of terrorism
could even eclipse it. Now they are mobilising international
opinion against fighting terrorism, it is time India revived the
NAM and articulate these concerns more effectively from the
perspectives of the erstwhile third world concept.
