Kale gets Portugese airline contract

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUMBAI, OCT. 18. Kale Consultants has bagged a contract from TAP Air Portugal, the national airline of Portugal, for the supply of their COPS Proration software.

COPS is the leading proration software worldwide, customer base of 20 airlines. Kale also supports a further ten airlines which have implemented Kale's revenue accounting system with an imbedded Apex Proration module. Kale is a leading player in passenger revenue accounting space and its solutions are proven products that meet commercial and strategic needs of today's airlines.

Kale established its European operations in London late last year, following the acquisition of some of the software assets from Speedwing, an independent software subsidiary of British Airways.

Kale derives nearly 50 per cent of its revenues from the airline division by selling branded software solutions for airline revenue accounting, proration, fare audit and cargo operations and boasts of over 35 airline customers worldwide.

About the impact of troubles affecting the airline industry, Mr. Vipul Jain, managing director, Kale Consultants, said, ``Right now all airlines are busy coping with the need for increased security and added insurance fees. But after 3-4 months this will be behind them and they will look for measures to increase operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
