By Our Staff Correspondent
RAIPUR, OCT. 18 Three policemen were killed and three injured in
a landmine blast in Dantewada district of Chhatisgarh on
Wednesday, triggered by naxalites owing allegiance to the
People's War Group.
The assailants escaped with two Self-Loading Rifles and a 303
rifle belonging to the policemen.
The incident occurred when a police patrol party, led by the Sub-
Divisional Police Office (SDPO), Mr. D.S.Marawi, was on way to
Konta village from Bhejji. As the vehicle reached Kobra village,
the suspects triggered the landmines.
The police jeep was blown to pieces and the occupants thrown
several feet away.
A motorcyclist passing by the spot brought Mr. Marawi to Konta
police station on his vehicle. A police party was rushed to the
spot. Police are making further investigations.
