Raghavulu, 45 others held, non-bailable cases booked
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, OCT. 20. The Communist Party of India(Marxist) State
Council Secretary, Mr. B.V. Raghavulu, and 45 party activists
were arrested and non-bailable cases were booked against them
today when they staged a demonstration near Telugu Talli flyover,
demanding solution to the ongoing APSRTC employees' strike.
The CPI(M) MLA, Mr. N. Narsimahaiah, and city leaders - Mr. P.
Madhu and Mr. G. Rambabu - were among those arrested. Defying the
massive police deployment in front of the Secretariat, about 50
CPI(M) activists staged a demonstration. A scuffle ensued
between the police and the demonstrators for a few minutes before
the latter were arrested and taken away in the readily kept vans.
The CPI(M) two days ago announced that it would lay a siege to
the Secretariat urging the Government to solve the strike.
