Heads, tails `n' medley

IF EVERY leaf on every tree could tell a story, that would be a miracle. If every animal in the entire jungle could voice its concern, that would be a miracle. They have no voices, right?

They do, insist the tiny-tots. And this doesn't require a miracle, but an imaginative mind and a tender heart that only kids can boast of. And so, one small girl dreams about the jungle and all those animals. And what does she see? "Mickey monkey loving fruits and nuts and living in a family just like us, the zebbie zebra losing its stripes (so, sad...) and all the animals getting together and declaring in chorus - let's save the mountains, forests and waters, the deserts, grasslands and the snow..."

One voice, one peaceful world and a friendly neighbourhood is all they dream of. No hate, no fight. Only celebration. And harmony. Indeed, a beautiful animal kingdom brought back to life in `The little people's animal dream', a musical potpourri of 15 songs brought out by Shailaja Rao for Future Tunes Co.

The album that packs tomes of information about animals in simple and symphonic tunes `n' lyrics was launched by yesteryear child actor-turned-film hero Tarun at Music World, Banjara Hills.

And lo, the place was teeming with tiny-tots. Some of them walked in all decked up as residents of the animal kingdom - some with zebra stripes, some with tiger stripes - and jived to the music. Some more kids joined the fray driving away their initial hesitancy and danced their blues away.

"Kids love animals. And we tried to tell them about the animal kingdom using music as the medium. And it's the best way to make learning all the more interesting and fun," explained Shailaja Rao.
