RIL to market DuPont's lycra
By Our Staff Correspondent
MUMBAI, OCT. 22. Reliance Industries and DuPont Apparel & Textile
Sciences have announced the signing of a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) forming a strategic partnership for the
exclusive distribution and development of the market for DuPont
lycra stretch fibres in India.
Under the arrangement, Reliance will use its countrywide
distribution network and leverage its long-standing customer
relationships in the textile industry built on its Recron
polyester products, to develop and promote lycra in India's
textile and garment industries. Reliance will provide technical
help as well as marketing support to enable the entire fibre-to-
garments value chain to use Lycra.
``This strategic alliance to sell products and market the DuPont
global brand Lycra in India is yet another important milestone in
the 20 year long relationship between Reliance and DuPont. Both
partners will leverage their unique and complementary strengths
to deliver value to the textile and garment chain of our
country," said Mr. Subodh Sapra, president, polyester sector,
RIL.
