Amanullah Khan plea
By B. Muralidhar Reddy
ISLAMABAD, OCT. 31. The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front
faction, led by Mr. Amanullah Khan, has called for a meeting of
`prominent' Kashmiri leaders from both sides of the border to
discuss the situation arising out of the September 11
developments and its impact on Kashmir. The organisation said 20
Kashmiri `political notables' from Kashmir on both sides of the
border had been invited for the meeting here on November 4, to
analyse the situation prevailing on national and international
levels regarding Kashmir issue and the ``Kashmiri's freedom
movement''.
The objective of the meet would be to ``evolve a common line of
action to meet the situation''. In his letter to prominent
leaders from both sides of the border and Gilgit Baltistan, Mr.
Amanullah Khan has said, ``matters including contradictory
statements on Kashmir by the U.S. Secretary of State in Islamabad
and New Delhi and intensification in atrocities of security
forces in Kashmir deserve serious consideration.''
