CM greets people

HYDERABAD, OCT. 31. The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, has greeted people on the occasion of the AP Formation Day tomorrow.

In a message, he said it was the responsibility of every citizen to protect the integrity of the State achieved after a long struggle and strive for stability, peace, communal harmony and a casteless society. He called upon people to rededicate themselves to the achievement of Swarna Andhra Pradesh and Vision 2020 goals.

Mr. Naidu recalled the sacrifices made by Potti Sriramulu and other leaders who fought for the unity of the State and paid rich tributes to them. He reminded that it was the first State to be created on lingusitic basis.

Governor asks people to make State strong

HYDERABAD, OCT. 31. The Governor, Dr C.Rangarajan, has urged the people to take a pledge to make Andhra Pradesh strong in political, economic and social terms.

In a message on the 45th anniversary of the formation of the State, he said: "The State came into existence to fulfil the aspirations of the Telugu-speaking people after a protracted struggle. The movement for linguistic reorganisation of States throughout the country gained momentum and wide acceptance after the birth of Andhra State which later became Andhra Pradesh.

"Economic growth is the answer to many of our socio-economic problems. We must pay attention to the growth of all the three segments of the economy - agriculture, industry and services. We need to achieve faster growth, more equitable distribution and balanced regional development. Rational economic decisions are the key to growth," he added.
