A facile escape
Sir, - Your Editorial ``Abu Salem's escape'' (Oct. 30): The
facile passage for his escape was the result of the lackadaisical
approach of officials. It is unfathomable why the Government
announces that the police are on the verge of catching the
criminals much before they actually do. Such plans should be
treated as classified. Any announcement would only caution the
culprits.
It is sad that the Union Government merely passed the buck and
blamed the Maharashtra Government for the goof-up.
