Indian killed in racist violence in Moscow

MOSCOW, NOV. 1. An Indian has been killed in the racist attack by a large group of Russian skinheads here, sources said today.

The identity of the Indian killed on Tuesday night has not been established, the diplomatic sources said.

However, Kommersant daily reported that 35-year-old Bravi Sharma was among the two persons killed by a mob of over 300 Russian neo-Nazi youth who attacked shops and kiosks belonging to ethnic Caucasians near a metro station in Moscow.

After a policeman fired warning shots, the skinheads armed with iron bars swarmed into the nearby metro station and made similar attacks at other stations along the same line and attacked a hotel housing offices of Afghan companies. Police have detained about 50 youth on the charges of homicide and hooliganism.
