By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, NOV. 1. The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) launched two websites, `www.ourmch.com' and `www.mch.gov.in', modified accrual-based accounting system and a library in the head office to mark the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day on Thursday. Mr. N. Md. Farooq, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, formally inaugurated the facility.

Addressing MCH personnel on the occasion, Mr. Farooq stated that the launching of websites would take the administration to the doorstep of the people. Dr. P.K. Mohanty, MCH Commissioner and Special Officer, said the civic body was shifting to commercial form of accounting following the inauguration of the modified accrual-based accounting system.

Its objective was to make the MCH a financially accountable organisation and accountable to the citizens. He said the MCH library, among others, would contain books/information pertaining to urban management and Geographic Information System (GIS).

The MCH websites provide facilities such as online payment of property tax, issuance of birth and death certificates, provide details of the progress of engineering works, indicate the status of the BRS applications and the like.

The websites also provide details of MCH history, administrative setup, e-governance, functions and activities, schemes, parks and recreational facilities, Megacity project, MRTS project, Charminar pedestrianisation project and other information.
