Aurobindo Pharma profit dips

Aurobindo Pharma has reported an income of Rs. 254.44 crores and a net profit of Rs. 14.54 crores for the quarter ended September 30, against Rs.269.92 crores and Rs.25.11 crores respectively in the corresponding period of the previous year.

For the half year ended September 30, income was Rs. 445 crores against Rs.486 crores and the net profit was Rs. 25.81 crores against Rs. 46.41 crores.

The company said its restructuring and expansion exercise resulted in downtime and loss of production affecting the top line and bottom line. However, benefits of this programme have already started to take effect and will be visible from the third quarter onwards. Nearly 75 per cent work of rationalising manufacturing facilities has been completed.
