Marginal rise for Carborundum Universal

Carborundum Universal has reported a marginal rise in sales during the half year ended September 30, 2001 at Rs. 134.38 crores against Rs. 132.38 crores in the same period last year. While domestic sales dropped by 3 per cent to Rs. 119 crores from Rs. 123 crores due to sluggish trend exports were up at Rs. 15.56 crores against Rs. 9.72 crores.

The profit before extraordinary items increased to Rs. 17.62 crores from Rs. 17.06 crores. The profit after tax was marginally lower at Rs. 11.68 crores against Rs. 11.87 crores.
