Federal Bank profit up
Federal Bank has achieved a net profit of Rs.. 42.12 crores in
the half year ended September 30, 2001 against Rs.29.41 crores in
the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. The operating
profit at Rs. 153.24 crores saw a rise of Rs. 76.63 crores.
The bank has made a provision of Rs. 80.09 crores towards non-
performing assets. The non-interest income portfolio registered a
growth of 100 per cent to Rs. 107.63 crores from Rs. 53.66
crores. Interest income grew by 16.26 per cent to Rs. 511.75
crores from Rs. 440.18 crores.
