6 infants dead
LUCKNOW, NOV. 4. Six newly-born infants, aged between one day to
three days, died in the King George's Medical College here during
the last 24-hours due to shortage of oxygen cylinders, their
parents alleged today.
Health officials at the neo-natal unit of the paediatrics
department of the KGMC described the cause as ``sudden death'' in
the official record. The parents of the deceased alleged that
there were not enough oxygen cylinders in the unit for the
babies, who were kept in the incubators during course of
treatment.
