Fishcart operator dies of stab injuries

CHENNAI, NOV. 4. Ramesh (25), a fishcart operator, in Koyambedu market died of injuries sustained after he was stabbed on Saturday.

According to the police, the victim was found with knife injuries near his vehicle at the market on Saturday night. He was rushed to the Government General hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The police suspect that Ramesh had a quarrel with another person in the market. A search is on to arrest the culprit.

In another incident, the Guduvancheri police fished out the body of Joseph (55) of Kotturpuram from a well in the area.

According to the police, Babu and Kumar, business partners of the deceased owed some money to him. When Joseph demanded the cash, they gave him liquor mixed with some chemical. Joseph fell unconscious after consuming the liquor and the duo then took him to Guduvancheri and pushed him into a well. The incident came to light, when Joseph's wife Ms. Amudha informed the police about the duo who were later arrested.
