Nizam jewellery brought home
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, NOV. 9. Amidst unprecedented security, the fabulous
Nizam jewellery was brought to the city here on Friday afternoon.
The collection would be put on display at the Salar Jung Museum
from November 24.
The jewellery, whose worth is estimated at above Rs. 1,800
crores, was brought in a special flight from New Delhi. Soon
after the landing of the flight, a security blanket was thrown
around the collection, which comprises 173 items, including the
fabled Jacob's Diamond. The collection was shifted in special
vehicles to the museum.
The motorcade carrying the precious collection of the former
rulers of Hyderabad were flanked by outriders and tailed by
police jeeps.
