Daikin Shriram's focus on brand building

CHENNAI, NOV. 9. Daikin Shriram Air-conditioners, manufacturer and seller of Daikin brand airconditioners, is focussing on building Daikin brand image in India and offering a complete airconditioning solution under one roof.

Daikin Shriram is a 80:20 joint venture between Daikin Industries of Japan and SIEL, a Siddharth Shriram group company. The company has a wide range of products from 9000 Btu class to 48000 Btu class under the skyair series. It has multisplit systems to save space and energy.

Addressing presspersons, Mr. Takao Nakamoto, Managing Director, Daikin Shriram, said, the Indian customers were increasingly becoming more sophisticated and quality conscious and the company felt there was a latent demand for complete airconditioning solution.

Mr. Nakamoto said the company was planning to set up a manufacturing plant in India once it established its brand name and crossed the Rs. 200 crore turnover mark.

The company today unveiled a complete solution plaza for air- conditioner buyers in Chennai, the first ever one stop shop for air-conditioners in India. Mr. Nakamoto said with the launch of Daikin's solution plaza, not only the specific needs of each individual customer would be attended to but also would act as a platform to offer complete air-conditioning solution.

Mr. Rajnish Ohri, General Manager, Marketing, said the company had two types of solution plaza. The Chennai plaza was `company owned company operated' one and the company would take care of all investments in interior work, display products and maintenance.

The Lucknow plaza was `dealer owned company operated' where all investments in interior and display of products would be made by the company while security in the form of bank guarantee was taken care of by the dealer.

The entire production of Daikin Shriram aircondtioners are taken care of by their modern factory at Silvassa. Daikin brings for the first time in India the latest technology in airconditioning - the scroll technology. They also have a factory at Faridabad.

Daikin, headquartered at Osaka, Japan, has 25 manufacturing facilities across the world for air-conditioning equipment.
