IFC to invest $21 m in CCIL

NEW DELHI, NOV. 10. The International Finance Corporation (IFC),
a member of the World Bank group which undertakes financing of
private sector projects, has decided to invest up to $20.5
million in Continental Carbon India Limited (CCIL) to support the
growth of carbon black industry in India. IFC's funding will be
utilised to expand production and improve environmental
conditions at the plant.
For this project, IFC will provide $9 million as long-term loan
from its own accounts and will also mobilise an additional $11.5
million in syndicated loans from Raiffeisen Zentralbank,
Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank and BNP Paribas.
CCIL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Continental Carbon Company
of Houston, U. S. and was created from spin-off of the carbon
black division of Oriental Carbon and Chemicals Limited.
