England arriving tomorrow

MUMBAI, NOV. 12. The Englishmen will arrive in Mumbai on a two- month cricket tour of India on November 14, with an itinerary for three Test matches and five one day internationals.

The team will play in two phases, the first of which will be from November 14 to December 24. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) executive secretary, Sharad Diwadkar, said practice sessions have been arranged for the team at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from November 15 to 17.

The team will have three practice matches. The first match will be played in Mumbai against President's XI from November 18 to 20, the second against Board President's XI at Hyderabad from November 22 to 24, and finally against India `A' at Jaipur from November 27 to 29.

The Test matches begin from December three at Mohali, from December 11 at Ahmedabad and December 19 at Bangalore.

The team will return home for Christmas after the Test matches and return again to play the five one day internationals during the second phase, which will be from January 20, 2002 to February 4, 2002.

Similarly, the one dayers will be played at Kolkata on January 22, Chennai on January 25, Kanpur on January 28, Delhi on January 31 and Mumbai on February three.

lThe team: Nasser Hussain (captain), Usman Afzaal, Martyn Ball, Mark Butcher, Marcus Trescothick, Graham Thorpe, Michael Vaughan, Mark Ramprakash, Richard Dawson, James Poster, Ashley Giles, Warren Hegg, Richard Johnson, Matthew Hoggard, James Ormond and Craig White.
