Pak. army claims ability to operate under NBCW environment

ISLAMABAD, NOV. 13. Pakistan today claimed to have successfully tested its ability to operate under nuclear, biological and chemical weapons (NBCW) environment.

A press statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate said that the Army conducted an exercise, ``winter collective training programme to test the ability to survive and fight in the environment of NBCW.'' It is for the first time that the exercise was conducted on such a large scale.

It said the troops acquired and exhibited skills about decontamination and disinfection of various weapons, machinery and their uniforms to enhance their survivability in an highly infected environment.

The Vice-Chief of the Army, Gen. Muhammad Yusuf Khan, visited the area and witnessed the troops engaged in the exercise.
