FIIs net sellers in equities and debt
MUMBAI, NOV. 18. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net
sellers in equities and debt at Rs. 112 crores ($23.3 million)
and Rs. 83.5 crores ($17.3 million) respectively for the trading
week ended November 16.
Mutual funds were, however, net buyers both in equities and debt.
In equities, MFs were net buyers to the extent of Rs. 18.91
crores while netting massive purchases of Rs. 229.92 crores in
debt instruments, according to the data available with the
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
FIIs were net sellers on all the four trading days. They recorded
their highest net sales of Rs. 46.7 crores ($9.7 million) on
November 14 followed by Rs. 33.8 crores ($7 million) on the
previous day.
On the debt front, foreign funds were net buyers at Rs. 12 crores
($2.5 million) on November 12, the first day of the week. They
were net sellers at Rs. 77.5 crores ($16.1 million) on November
14 while abstaining from any activity the next day.
MFs were net buyers in stocks on November 13 and 14 at Rs. 15.83
crores and Rs. 4.54 crores respectively.
