NEW DELHI, NOV. 18. The Housing and Urban Development Corporation

This was disclosed by the Minister for Urban Development and

accompanied by the Minister of State for Urban Development and
Poverty Alleviation, Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya, and the Chairman and
Managing Director of HUDCO, Mr. V. Suresh.
Elaborating on the proposal, the Minister indicated that these
centres would be established over a period of one year and would
have three-dimensional display of houses for various income
groups exhibiting the use and adoption of cost-effective and
innovative building materials and technologies.
Appreciating the display of cost-effective building materials and
technologies at the Build-Tech pavilion, the Minister said that
as part of the Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana, HUDCO will support
construction of four lakh houses annually in urban areas.
To implement the scheme, a Central grant of Rs.1000 crores will
