Ambush toll 17

JAMMU, NOV. 19. The death toll in Sunday's ambush of an Army
convoy in Doda district has risen to 17. Official sources said a
jawan succumbed to injuries last night while another civilian
died today. Nine critically injured jawans were still battling
for life at hospital.
A defence spokesman said today that nine militants were killed in
two separate encounter at Hari Marhot and Khanetar village in
Surankote area of Poonch sector. In a separate incident, six
persons were critically injured in two separate landmine blasts
in Jammu division.
