Taliban to surrender Kunduz
Bangi (Afghanistan), Nov. 22. The Taliban agreed Thursday to surrender its last northern stronghold, including thousands of Arabs and other foreign fighters loyal to Osama bin Laden, Northern Alliance commanders said. However, details about how the foreigners will be treated remain to be settled.

Opposition members shun Fernandes

Continuing its campaign against the re- induction of the Samata Party leader, Mr. George Fernandes, in the Union Cabinet as the Defence Minister, the Opposition benches in the Lok Sabha today refused to put any questions to him, claiming that he was ``illegally occupying'' the post. The Opposition's noisy protest during question hour forced the Speaker to adjourn the House for three hours.
