Sena to observe Dec. 6 as 'victory day'

KANPUR, NOV. 23. The Shiv Sena today threatened to offer prayers at the disputed site in Ayodhya on December 6, and observe it - ninth anniversary of the demolition of the ``disputed structure'' - as a ``victory day.''

The chief general secretary of the party's Uttar Pradesh unit, Mr. Manoj Tewari, told presspersons that a large number of Shiv Sainiks from all over the State would reach Ayodhya to perform `puja' and `archana' and observe ``victory day.''

Accusing the BJP of using the Ram temple issue ``to capture power'' and not doing anything for the Hindus, he criticised the VHP too, saying it had done nothing for the families of the `kar sevaks' who died at the disputed site on December 6, 1992, but was now raising the temple issue with an eye on the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
