Kidnap case accused killed in encounter

KARIMNAGAR, NOV. 23. Bolla Mallesham alias Vikram, CPI-ML Janashakthi deputy commander and one of the accused persons in the abduction of Mr. Ch Marthanda Rao, a contractor and close relative of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Ch Vidyasagar Rao, was killed in an encounter with the police in the dense forests of Sanugula village under the Chandurthi police station limits on Friday afternoon.

The Superintendent of Police, Dr. R.S. Praveen Kumar, said that on credible information about the movement of Janashakthi naxalites in the forests, special police parties had launched combing operations.

After noticing the police, three naxalites opened fire and the police party retaliated the fire in which one deputy commander of Sanugula dalam was killed. Two other naxalites escaped. The police had recovered one 8 mm rifle and three kitbags from the scene of offence.
