Have faith in yourself, says Saibaba
By Our Staff Reporter
PUTTAPARTHI, NOV. 23. Sri Satya Saibaba has observed that today's
man is losing faith in everything including in himself and in the
process losing peace of mind. He advised man to redeem faith in
himself and make an attempt to know the love and divinity and in
turn attain peace of mind.
In his discourse delivered in the Sai Kulwanth Hall in Prashanti
Nilayam here on Friday on the occasion of his 76th birthday, Sri
Saibaba called the man to develop spirit of love and divinity and
spread it to all. He said joy and sorrow were not permanent but
the man had to find his origin. Then alone he would attain peace
of mind.
If man had no faith in himself he would never relish the life.
That was why man must have faith in himself always, Saibaba said.
He wished happiness for all in the world. "Become master of mind,
then you are not affected by anything", he preached.
Stating that man was foolishly feeling low whenever sorrow
surrounded him, forgetting that the real joy lied beneath the
sorrow. "Fathom the sorrow with equal mindedness by treating the
joy and sorrow alike, then you will get the ultimate happiness -
love and divinity", Saibaba exhorted. Equal mindedness was the
wealth that man should aspire for and not the worldly desires, he
said.
Self-respect was the noblest properties of man as it was uniform
among all, irrespective of rich and poor, he said. The man who
had self-respect would respect others and get it back from
others, he noted. So, the man should develop self-respect in
order to respect others, he suggested.
Saibaba termed man's experience of comfort and miseries as
perversion of mind. It would happen due to dual thinking. The
bliss man could attain from sadness was greater than what he
would get from happiness, he said. "Invite problems every now and
then to experience the ultimate joy of love and divinity", he
advised. The bliss man could get from happiness was momentary but
from misery it would be permanent, he said. Divinity was nothing
but loving everybody, he proclaimed.
The happiness had no value without problems, Saibaba stressed and
said happiness and god were not separate. They were always found
in union. Emphasising that truth and god were found everywhere,
Saibaba said there was no difference between god and man, if the
latter attains divinity.
Saibaba preached three principles - fear of sin, love for god and
morality in life that would always bring man closer to the
almighty. He also hailed the Indian culture stating that it would
not stray with the passage of time. Earlier, before coming to the
dais he went round the Sai Kulwanth Hall and outside it to greet
and bless the devotees. He also inaugurated the "Radio Sai Global
Harmony, a digital radio network, by pressing a switch.
