Taliban Consulate in Karachi sealed

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD, NOV. 25. Police have sealed off the closed down Taliban Consulate in the port city of Karachi.

It is believed that the consulate office was the nerve centre of pro-Taliban activists during protests in the city.

It is not clear why the authorities have taken so long to raid the consulate considering the fact that it was closed down more than 10 days ago. It was the first consulate of the Taliban to be shut down in Pakistan.

Reports from Karachi said that 15 Afghans were taken into custody during the raids.
