Musharraf sees division in India on Kashmir
Islamabad, Nov. 26. The Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, today said that there was a division in the Indian establishment on the Kashmir dispute and this was evident from the repeated statements of the External Affairs Minister, Mr. Jaswant Singh, about Kashmir at the `core of the nationhood' of India.

High drama as Laloo appears in court
Ranchi, Nov. 26. The Special CBI Court today rejected the bail petitions of the two former Chief Ministers, Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav and Dr. Jagannath Mishra, and remanded them to 14 days judicial custody in connection with a conspiracy angle case of the fodder scam today.

India to boycott Denness
New Delhi, Nov. 26. The Indian Cricket Board today decided to permanently boycott the controversial match referee, Mr. Mike Denness, but gave clear indications that it favoured an amicable settlement with the International Cricket Council (ICC). It asserted that Virender Sehwag was eligible to play against England next week despite the ICC having ruled against that.

Govt. denies attempt to rewrite history
New Delhi, Nov. 26. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr. Pramod Mahajan, today termed the controversy over the circular and the Opposition walkout as ``very unfortunate'' and maintained that there had been no attempt to ``rewrite history.''

Quattrocchi in court
Kuala Iumpur, Nov. 26. The Bofors pay-off case accused and Italian businessman, Mr. Ottavio Quattrocchi, today appeared in a court here to fight India's efforts to extradite him from Malaysia. Mr. Quattrocchi appeared calm and took notes as his lawyers traded arguments with those for the Government of India over an affidavit alleging that the extradition effort was politically motivated.

Emergency in Nepal
Kathmandu, Nov. 26. Nepal's King Gyanendra imposed a state of emergency on the Himalayan nation today after the worst violence in five years by Maoist guerrillas fighting to topple the monarchy.

AP Cabinet reshuffled
Hyderabad, Nov. 26. Rewarding old loyalists and seeking to stem the TDP's eroding base in Telengana, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, today carried out a major reshuffle, sacking eight Ministers and inducting 11. Party loyalists and six senior leaders were given Cabinet berths and three were given Cabinet ranks for their loyalty to the party since its inception.

New CJ for Rajasthan HC
New Delhi, Nov. 26. The President, Mr. K.R. Narayanan, has appointed Mr. Justice Arun Kumar, Judge of the Delhi High Court, to be the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court with effect from the date he takes charge. He succeeds Mr. Justice A.R. Lakshmanan, who has taken over as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
