India concerned at failure of talks with Maoists
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, NOV. 26. As renewed violence engulfs Nepal, India
today expressed concern at the collapse of the dialogue between
the Government and the Maoist opposition.
Commenting on the latest developments in the Himalayan Kingdom,
the Foreign Office spokeswoman said India believed ``violence
can't be used to achieve political objectives''.
In response to a question, she said there was no word from Nepal
on the coming meeting of South Asian leaders in Kathmandu. It was
not up to India to decide whether the meeting should be
postponed, she added.
The long-delayed summit of the South Asian Association of
Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is slated to be held during January
4-6 in Kathmandu.
