Pariyaram stir called off

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 26. The agitation by the students and
house surgeons of the Cooperative Medical College at Pariyaram
has been settled, the Minister for Cooperation, Mr. M.V.
Raghavan, said here on Monday.
The students and house surgeons were on strike demanding steps
to regain recognition by the Medical Council of India for the
college. The strike was called off as the Minister promised to
take concrete steps towards achieving this.
The Minister said that Rs. 10 crores had been allocated to
complete urgent works to be completed at the college towards
getting recognition.
