One-stop software solution launched for clinical labs
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, NOV. 26. The Bangalore-based CifTech Solutions Pvt.
Ltd. has launched CIFTlab 1.0 as a one-stop software solution for
clinical diagnostic laboratories. It is as relevant to small
laboratories as to advanced hi-tech ones, and it is the first
such product of its kind in India, CIFTech's CEO, Mr.
G.L.Nagendra, has said.
Speaking to presspersons here today, he said the software was
built on client server technology, and it was a product that
addressed all aspects of laboratory operations such as test
registration and reporting, inventory and equipment maintenance.
It could also handle various categories of customers including
members, corporates, nursing homes, health insurance agents as
well as walk-in patients.
It was a multi-user version of CIFTlab 1.0 that provided
effective sharing of data across the network for quick flow of
information and retrieval. It also had extensive report and query
options, and came with a ready-to-use pre-defined clinical test
format database, which had been prepared and verified by
qualified pathologists, apart from features such as result
calculation methods and viewing of colour atlas, he added.
A system with a 400 MHz processor, 64 MB RAM, 4.2 GB hard disk,
Windows 95 or higher was recommended, although systems of a
lesser order could be booted, Mr. Nagendra said.
The company's earlier products, CIFTClinic and CIFTHealth in the
healthcare genre had been received well in the districts and by
single doctor clinics all over the State, according to Mr.
Nagendra. While CIFTClinic addressed the requirements of
practising doctors to automate medical and administrative aspects
of operations, and handle routine activities such as scheduling
appointments, accounting and maintaining patient records,
CIFTHealth was a software that provided for total hospital
automation. It was a Windows-based multi-user software that
supported data mining and data warehousing technology, and
generated over 50 reports, registration cards, customised
laboratory reports, patient accounting and billing, and so on,
Mr. Nagendra added.
