BANGALORE, NOV. 26. The City police have arrested four members of
a gang of extortionists, robbers, and kidnappers, and recovered
cash and stolen jewellery worth Rs. 17.5 lakhs from them.
They were members of the dreaded Nasru gang which was involved in
cases of kidnapping and molestation of ``live band'' artistes.
The arrested are Jameel, Mustaff alias Kalim (both 24, and
residents of Hosur Road Cross, Mangamanapalya, Bommanahalli),
Mohamad Iqbal alias Iqbal (23) from Tirumakot, Hosur taluk,
Dharmapuri District, and Mohamad Shafi alias Shafi (25) from

police stations have been solved. The stolen jewellery recovered
from the accused included gold and diamond necklaces.
The Police Commissioner, Mr. H.T. Sangliana has announced a
reward for the members of the team which apprehended the
gangsters.
Their arrest has helped police solve the robbery case in which
the former MP and former Commissioner of Police, Bangalore, Mr.
P. Kodandaramaiah, was the victim.
Mr. Kodandaramaiah was robbed of his cell phone when he was
travelling by car on Bannerghatta Road, and a case was registered
in the Adugodi police station.
