British Airways jet makes emergency landing

LONDON, NOV. 27. A British Airways passenger jet made an emergency landing today after the pilot reported a warning light in the cockpit, police said. There was no damage and no one was injured.

The jet, with 23 passengers and four crew, had taken off from the Southampton airport in southern England this morning bound for Dublin, Ireland.

Shortly after take-off, the pilot reported seeing the warning light and turned back to the airport, where he made an emergency landing, Hampshire police said. The nearby M27 Highway was closed briefly while the plane made its approach.
