Annan releases book on world poetry
NEW YORK, NOV. 27. An anthology of poems, including from India,
edited by the Indian Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr.
Kamlesh Sharma, has been released by the U.N. Secretary-General,
Mr. Kofi Annan, to mark the end of the millennium year.
The book Mille fleurs - poetry from around the world which was
released on Monday brings out the cultural diversity and unity of
human values, yearning for peace and horrors of war, value of
forgiveness and call to fight for freedom fearlessly and seems to
be a rendering of the agenda that world leaders had set for
themselves.
