Show-cause notice to TDP MLA

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, NOV. 28. A show cause notice has been served on the Telugu Desam MLA from Anakapalle, Mr. Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, by the party for his outburst against the party leadership over the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

The TDP general secretary, Mr. Lal Jan Basha, in a letter to Mr. Veerabhadra Rao today asked him to explain the circumstances under which he rushed to the media to air his grievances instead of approaching the party president, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, to explain his viewpoint.

The MLA has been given one week's time to send in his reply to the party office.

Mr. Rao had attacked the TD Parliamentary Party leader, Mr. K. Yerran Naidu, for meddling in the exercise of reconstituting the Cabinet and indirectly criticised Mr. Chandrababu Naidu for not rectifying the situation in Visakhapatnam district where proper leadership was lacking in the party.

Party sources said the leadership was contemplating serving similar notices on Mr. E. Peddi Reddi, who was dropped from the Cabinet, and three MLAs from Rangareddi district - Mr. K. Harishwar Reddy, Mr. Mahender Reddy and Mr. A. Chandrasekhar.

The final decision would be taken within a day or two, they added.
