Bill approved

NEW DELHI, DEC. 5. Parliament today approved a legislation for giving promotions to Government servants belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes with retrospective effect from June 17, 1995 with the Rajya Sabha passing the measure with 165 members voting in favour and one against it.

The Deputy Chairperson, Ms. Najma Heptullah, said the one vote that went against the Bill was subject to correction. - PTI
