Kiran Pawar's knock in vain

VIJAYAWADA, DEC. 5. Andhra scored a seven-wicket win over Goa in the South Zone Ranji Trophy league match at the Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Wednesday after centurian Kiran Pawar led a dour resistance by Goa in the first two sessions of the final day.
Andhra was all set to wrap up the match by an innings, with Goa tottering at 57 for six, still 46 runs behind. But the overnight seventh wicket pair of Kiran Pawar (104, 1x6, 9x4) and Shadab Jakati (52, 3x4) added 133 runs to make Andhra bat again.
Andhra gained eight points for a total of 13 before it takes on Karnataka at Kurnool in its third match. Goa picked up three points against Tamil Nadu earlier and next meets Kerala at Kochi.
