Two selected for National Child Award

PONDICHERRY, DEC. 5. Two students of the Pondicherry-based Yoganjali Natyalayam, Ms. N.Ramya and Ms. M.Niraimathi have been selected for the `National Child Awards', instituted by the Department of Women and Child Development, New Delhi.

According to a press release from the Director of the Yoganjali Natyalayam, Ms. Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani, Ms.Ramya, a 9th standard student of St. Joseph of Cluny HSS was selected in recognition of her outstanding proficiency in Bharathanatyam, yoga and the game of chess.

Ms.Selvi Niraimathy a 11th standard student of Amalorpavam HSS, has been selected for her proficiency in Bharathanatyam, yoga, elocution and painting. Both have been students of the Natyalayam for past seven years.

Ms. Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani felicitated the students.

Awards worth Rs.5,000 and a silver medal sponsored by the Central will be presented to them in New Delhi.
