THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 5. The State conference of the CPI(M) would be held in Kannur from February 15 to 18.

The CPI(M) State secretary, Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan, said in a statement here today that a meeting would be held at the Navaneetham Auditorium in Kannur on December 7 to constitute the reception committee for the conference.

He said the conference, being held against the backdrop of the US-sponsored military adventures and globalisation efforts at the international level and grave economic crisis at the national and State levels, had great relevance for the people.

He called upon all sections of people to rally behind the CPI(M) in this hour of crisis and make the conference a success.
