CHENNAI, DEC. 5. The Particulate Matter (PM) level in T. Nagar was highest at 887 micrograms/cubic metre (mcg/cm), than the permissible level of 200 mcg/cm and at Kilpauk it was 433 mcg/cm and 335 mcg/cm at Vallalar Nagar.

The Respirable Dust Particle (RDP) level was higher than the permissible limit of 100 mcg/cm at Kilpauk-139 mcg/cm and T. Nagar-129 mcg/cm. The Sulphur Dioxide, Oxides of Nitrogen, Lead and Carbon Monoxide levels were much within the permissible limits.

The pollution levels were recorded between November 26 and November 30 by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board under the Chennai Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme.
