Taking note of the extent of damage to the roads, the civic body allocated Rs. 1 crore for repair of bus route roads alone. For interior roads, another Rs. 72 lakhs has been allocated from the Zonal Contingency Fund.
The civic machinery today carried out patch work on the Haddows Road and the Nungambakkam High Road which were among the worst affected. Simultaneous operations were also being carried in various parts of the city.
The work on all bus route roads were being carried out with the help of a mechanical paver finisher to get a bump-free surface and also to speed up the execution of work, Mr. P. R.
