By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI DEC. 6. Mr. Rajendra S. Lodha, a leading chartered accountant, has taken over as the new President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) today. He is the first professional to take over the top post in FICCI, a release from the chamber said.

Mr. A. C Muthiah, head of Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC), has been elected Senior Vice-President while Mr. Yogendra K. Modi, Chairman of YKM Holdings, was elected Vice President. Mr Muthiah was earlier too the Senior Vice President and was tipped to be the FICCI President last year, but opted out because of his pre-occupation with the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) of which he was President till this year.
